MEET THE TEAM

Shaun Lulofs

Shaun started with cars early as a necessity helping his Dad, along with his brother, fix and maintain the family vehicles. That grew into wanting to tinker with his own cars at driving age. He got the first automotive job that would hire him at the age of 17 and for the next 2 years he worked his way from lube tech to Service Manager at a national tire chain. His Dad pleaded with him to go to trade school if he wanted to make a career out of his passion. Shaun enrolled in Universal Technical Institue and graduated with honors and perfect attendance. He was accepted into the Mercedes-Benz Elite training program and moved to Sarasota after graduating. Shaun spent over a decade working specifically on Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, achieving Master Technician status before deciding to take his career to the independent service world.

After a short stint of working as a mechanic at a local European repair shop, Shaun had the opportunity to become a Service Manager and operate that same business. He operated a team of seven technicians and two service advisors for almost eight years until the opportunity to start SRQ Motorsports. Shaun helped layout and build out the current SRQ Motorsports facility. He has a son that shares his passion for motorsports, the outdoors, and sports. In his free time, Shaun enjoys boating, fishing, and playing sports. Shaun is involved in an adult co-ed soccer league and also plays with the Sarasota Surge Men's Rugby Club.  He enjoys watching motorsports (mostly GT racing), NFL (Green Bay Packers), NHL (Tampa Bay Lightning), and history documentaries on TV.

Robert Hollister

It's been said, the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Rob's rite of passage took place with the purchase of his first BMW M3. 14 years on and multiple examples later, it's clear, his penchant for the E46 M3 borders on insanity.  The guys in the shop are currently pitching him on an LS swap in lieu of the S54 power plant that came with his current car from Munich. He's about to go all-in on that project with the help of the SRQ team. Check back for more!

Having graduated Rutgers University, at the turn of the new millennium, he has worked in automotive manufacturing on programs for Tesla, Nissan, Ford, ZF, and GM. These programs directly related to Australian, French, and German firms. His travels and international experience have lead him to support the team at SRQ Motorsports.

Sarasota was always his second home until 3 years ago. The decision to lock in on Sarasota was easy and thus has become his primary home.  Having lived in California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and lastly, the city that put the world on wheels, Detroit, Michigan. His is a story of mobility and exploration.

For over a decade he has been, and continues as, a leader in the BMWCCA. His current role as Sarasota Area Governor occupies a majority of time outside of shop life. He hosts a monthly cars and coffee event and is on the Motorsports planning committee. His focus is on supporting and scheduling motorsports activities for local club members in the FSC, the Florida Sun Coast Chapter.
